While previous studies have shown that women are more likely than men to initiate the divorce, a recent study has now found that women are also more likely to be more satisfied with their post-divorce lives. The study looked at 2,000 adults in the United States and surveyed them on how they felt about their lives after their divorces. The results were surprising.

Divorcing after decades of marriage

Issues like property divisions, child support, child custody and alimony are an integral part of the divorce process. However, how long the couple has been married can have a significant impact on how some of the issues are handled. Those divorcing after many years of marriage often have established extremely commingled finances and may not even know where to begin when it comes to dividing them.
